FREE Lettuce!

News

Although we are still in the process of securing funds for our aquaponics greenhouse to be located 700' from the Santa Fe Place mall, thanks to our work with Santa Fe Community College, we have a crop of lettuce that we can use for market research this Thursday (and into the weekend).

Anyone (within 12.5 miles of our future location) who preorders or makes a donation at our webstore (https://app.barn2door.com/lettuceetc/all) in time, can get FREE lettuce this later this week--while supplies last, as long as they agree to answer a few brief surveys.

After taking most of the SFCC crops to various nonprofits (see below) with connections to people in need, we will also be delivering FREE lettuce a few more times this spring for more market research (particularly after SFCC's spring semester is over). So click the button below now, so you don't miss out!

What we've been up to:

Since our last big news about getting a building permit from the city just in time for post-pandemic increases in construction costs and interest rates, we spent nine months going through a process that the New Mexico Finance Authority was ordered to create as per a 2022 NM law. We came in 4th out of the 33 companies that applied, but ultimately the NMFA denied us the low-interest, long-term loan advertised by the state. Ironically, this bad news may turn out to be a very good thing because more recently we have been working on some AI technology (see photo) for aquaponics and farm-to-home delivery that could make our value proposition even better!

At the same time, we have been put in charge of distributing a lot of lettuce for SFCC. It's already gone to

  • SFCC's students, teachers, staff, and visitors

  • SFCC's nonprofit, the Campus Cupboard

  • Santa Fe Mutual Aid (see photo)

  • Communities In Schools

  • A large group of senior citizens (thanks to the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Santa Fe)

Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions. For now, if you haven't done so already, please preorder or donate with the button below, so you can get FREE lettuce this spring!

Thank you!
Nate

PS If you have already preordered (over 30 of you already have!), please check your spam folder from an email from Hello@Barn2Door sent last Friday to ensure your delivery.
